Art for all; summer exhibition at the Royal Academy

For 250 years, the Royal Academy has been holding a Summer Exhibition. Join the crowds, and the fun at this excellent tour de force of modern art. Off to Piccadilly and the RA!

With over 1,000 works in the show, the Summer Exhibition can be exciting and tiring at the same time. So much to take in at once in huge, light-filled galleries. You can also see all the works online.

Artists include laymen and professionls:

Be sure to seek out Rosemarie Trockel, Julian Schnabel, Hassan Hajjaj, Secundino Hernández, Isaac Julien, Tomoaki Suzuki, Mark Wallinger and Sean Scully RA, as well as submissions by new Royal Academicians including Gilbert & George and David Adjaye. You won't miss highlights including Yinka Shonibare RA’s six metre high colourful wind sculpture in the RA Courtyard, and Farshid Moussavi RA’s drawings in the Architecture Gallery.

We'll get you to the RA on time and suggest a place to eat and refresh yourself. Start out in the courtyard cafe with a strong espresso!
